Know the law. Learn to apply it.
WakiliBench is an AI Socratic reasoning trainer built specifically for Kenyan law. Work through a realistic legal scenario, defend your reasoning against AI follow-up questions, and receive structured feedback against a six-dimension rubric.
What it does
- Presents a legal scenario grounded in real Kenyan authorities.
- Challenges you Socratically — issue spotting, reasoning, use of authority, counterarguments, clarity, and ethics.
- Scores your answer against a transparent six-dimension rubric so you can see exactly where your reasoning is strong and where it's thin.
It's the equivalent of a one-on-one Socratic session with a senior lecturer — on demand, for any topic — instead of being one of 80 students who never gets called on.
What it is not
- Not legal advice. Nothing here is a substitute for a qualified advocate.
- Not a chatbot that invents cases. The tutor is grounded in a verified corpus of Kenyan authorities, and is designed to say when it is uncertain rather than fabricate a citation.
- Not a graded exam. The score is for the learner's own benefit — practice, not assessment.
Why Kenyan law specifically
Most AI legal tools target US or UK law and get Kenyan law wrong. WakiliBench is built around actual Kenyan authorities — the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Acts of Parliament, and binding case law — with every scenario and challenge traceable back to a real source.
For law schools
We offer free pilots to individual classes — student accounts, a short lecturer orientation, and a post-pilot report with anonymized class performance data. If you teach Legal Method, Legal Research, or Legal Drafting and want your students to get more Socratic practice than a large lecture hall allows, get in touch.
